The Central Bank of Azerbaijan (CBA) instructed banks in the country to suspend business cooperation with the money transfer system MIGOM from 8 June because of its continued illegal activities in the Azerbaijani territories occupied by Armenia, the director of the CBA communications department Rufat Abbasov said on June 8.

"Despite the repeated warnings, the MIGOM money transfers system continued translations to the occupied territory, and therefore, it was decided to suspend Azerbaijani banks' cooperation with it," said Abbasov.

Currently operations on the territory of Azerbaijan are not carried out due to the order of the Central Bank of Azerbaijan, a source from MIGOM Moscow office told by telephone.

"The company is trying to deal with the situation, however, it is impossible to say when the ban on operations in Azerbaijan will be lifted," said MIGOM.
