Azerbaijan, Baku, June 8

BASF Concern organized the first educational activity on the series of ecological issues for children in Sumgait on the 7th June, the company reported.

The purpose of this activity is to make clear the whole gravity of the ecological issues for children and give an overall conception on the environmental care. One of the principles of BASF is the realization of this tasks in combination with the principle of sustainable development and good environmental care. Thus the concern invested more than 400 mln. euro into the process of power efficiency, efficient consumption of resources, on ecological projects and the development of new technology.

The presentation was developed on the basis of a special environmental book with colorful pictures to help children learn new information in a game format. Simple chemistry experiments helped children learn modern and simple methods of cleaning water, air and soil.

Following the presentation, which featured an open interaction, the children were invited to the "Environmental center" where they were shown an interesting experiment on how to utilize and reuse paper. Effective processing and innovative technique are one of the ways of decreasing the environmental impact on nature. BASF products can save three times more greenhouse gas emissions than the entire amount caused by their production and disposal.

Curious children very attentively listened to this small "lection", giving their questions and happily participating in the experiments.

At the end of the event, every little environmental defender was presented with a set of paints and pencils.

At a sweet table young chemists joyfully exchanged their impressions and promised to present next time their colorful pictures on how they will protect the environment.

The representatives of "Оur talents - Оur future" Mr. Karl Lauer and the representative of the Ministry of Education Mr. Vidad Bagirov also took an active participation in the activity.

Such activities will also be held in other children's educational institutions of the Azerbaijan Republic in the nearest future.
