Russia is a major trading partner of Turkmenistan. The countries maintain a high level of turnover. In 2009, it exceeded $5.5 billion, Igor Blatov, Russian Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Ambassador Igor Blatov's message spread in Turkmen media said.
The report is timed to the twentieth anniversary of the adoption of the "Declaration on State Sovereignty of the Russian Federation" celebrated June 12.
"Turkmenistan was and will be a reliable partner for Russian business, attractive target for our investments", Russian diplomat said. He said that we will have to discover a huge trade and economic potential.
Blatov stressed that Turkmenistan, experiencing an era of great change, creates favorable conditions for business development and foreign investors' joining the local market.
He said that bilateral relations are rapidly developing at the regional level.
The recent years were marked by a real breakthrough in this direction. The presidents of Tatarstan, St. Petersburg and the Astrakhan region visited Turkmenistan.
"Multimillion-dollar contracts have been signed with these Russian regions to supply construction equipment, repair of marine vessels, modernize road and transport infrastructure.
