Ashgabat to host CGIAR economic forum

Ashgabat will open the meeting of the Consultative Group on International Agricultural Research (CGIAR) for Central Asia and South Caucasus June 13.
Ensure of food abundance, growth of efficiency of agrarian sector, implementation of its export potential and prudent attitude to the soil and water resources will be the meeting's priorities, the state news agency Turkmen Dovlet Khabarlari reported.
The CGIAR was established in 1971. The structure includes more than 60 couriers, international partners, research institutions and others.
"Combining the efforts of the world scientists in this area is dictated by the importance of building partnership relations in the light of the pressing global problems associated with increased costs of agricultural production, climate change, food security, water scarcity, soil degradation and biodiversity loss," the source reported.
