Azerbaijani Association of Credit Unions (AKİA) and the World Bank (WB) conduct trainings for employees of credit unions in categories A and B within the project of lending and the development of agriculture, the report said.

Training will run from June 30. It will last till July 15. Training on "Accounting rules for credit unions, preparation of annual business plan and annual budget, and the establishment of reserves to cover possible losses" was held by expert Tahir Aliyev. A training course on" Collection of overdue loans and guarantee payment of loans" was held by Canadian expert Richard Weger.

Trainings are held every day from 10:00 to 17:00 at the Government House. Participants of training are divided into groups. Specialists who have successfully passed the training, will get certificates.

AKİA was established in 2003. Its main objectives are promoting credit unions at both the regional and international levels, assistance in creation of new loan unions, training for members of the loan unions to improve the quality of their work, establishing of contacts with donor organizations, the protection of the rights of the loan unions, lobbying for legislation related to their activities.
