Azerbaijan, Baku, July 5 / Trend S. Suleymanov /

The Interstate Council of Eurasian Economic Community has entered a phase of advanced integration, Russian President Dmitry Medvedev said.

"Ten years of the EurAsEC is a little period from the historical point of view. But at the same time it is considerable. It seems that we are moving slowly. But I want to note that we are moving faster [in the process of integration] than in Europe," Medvedev said at a press conference following the meeting of the Council in Astana on Monday. The completion of the formation of the Customs Union of Russia, Kazakhstan and Belarus was discussed.

He said that discussions of various issues on the Customs Union were hot. "But we always reach the contract," he said.

Tajik President Emomali Rahmon said that the country is closely and actively engaged in the study of joining the Customs Union.

Roza Otunbayeva, who is the president of Kyrgyzstan's transition period, said that the country is determined to enter the Customs Union.

"We are determined to consider all the issues of entry into the Customs Union", Otunbayeva said. She recalled that Kyrgyzstan was at the source of the creation of the EurAsEC. After a short break, the country intends to restore the economic and financial integration.

Belarusian President Alexander Lukashenko said that Nursultan Nazarbayev was the engine of our relations within the EurAsEC. "I did not say it for flattery. But as a statement of fact," he said.

Lukashenko recalled that on Tuesday two anniversaries are marked - the 10-th anniversary of EurAsEC and the 70-th birthday of Nursultan Nazarbayev. "But do not worry, you look better than the EurAsEC, Lukashenko told Kazakh President.

Lukashenko said that the position of Belarus proceeds from the fact that the Customs Union should be created for the benefit of the people. "Wait and see", Lukashenko said.
