Anglo Asian Mining plc is the only producer of gold in Azerbaijan. It produced 145 tons of copper concentrate for four months, the company said.
The company produced about 145 tons of copper concentrate with 60 percent copper content, as well as the content of four kilograms of silver per ton of concentrate for four months, until June 30, 2010.
"Copper concentrate has unusual high humidity. A new filtration system was ordered," a statement said.
The company is in the process of evaluating options for sale of copper and silver, obtained from the concentrate.
The process of recovery and refining of copper was launched in February. After optimization of the production process, automation system will be installed. The plant's capacity is 1,800 tons of copper concentrate per year, although the volume of production will depend on the mineralogy of ores and process efficiency.
The company Anglo Asian Mining PLC has the rights to develop six fields in the south-west of Azerbaijan - Gedabey, Ordubad, Gosha Bulag, Gizil Bulag, Vejnali and Soyutlu based on the PSA agreements signed with the Azerbaijani government in August 1997.
