IMF evaluates opportunities to provide Georgia with new technical aid

A mission of the International Monetary Fund (IMF) will arrive in Tbilisi July 15 to evaluate the effectiveness of technical assistance rendered to develop the statistics in Georgia, the IMF's Tbilisi representation said.

The mission will get acquainted with the situation in the national statistics service, as well as meet with the leadership of the National Bank, Ministry of Finance.

Special attention will be paid at the calculation of macroeconomic indicators (national accounts, prices and foreign trade) and dissemination of statistical data.

The IMF mission's members are planning meetings with users of statistics and donors. The prospects of providing new technical assistance and their priorities will be discussed.
