Annual inflation hits 4.9 percent in Azerbaijan

Prices for consumer goods and tariffs for services remained decreased by 0.6 percentin June of 2010 compared to the previous month, and in January-June increased by 4.9 percent compared to the same period in 2009, the State Committee on Statistics said.
Food prices decreased by 1.1 percent compared to May and non-food prices remained unchanged, tariffs on services increased by 0.1 percent.
Prices for food increased by 4.6 percent, non-food - by 1.8 percent, tariffs on services - 81 percent compared to January-June of 2009.
Flour products cheapened by 0.1 percent, fish products - one percent, vegetables - 9.2 percent, fruits - 0.4 percent, oil and fats - 0.3 percent, meat products - by .1 percent, rallied dairy products, cheese and eggs - 1.7 percent, sugar, jam, honey, chocolate and sweets - 0.2 percent.
In June, the base consumer price index, calculated net of goods and services subject to seasonal changes (fruits and vegetables) and the prices that are regulated by the state increased by 0.1 percent and by 2.4 percent over a year.
