In January-May about 16,000 cars were imported to Azerbaijan. It is 40.5 percent less than the same period last year, the State Statistics Committee said.
According to the State Statistics Committee, the total value of cars imported in January-May amounted to about $135.5 million dollars, or 24.6 percent less than in January to May 2009.
In January-May about 1,794 trucks were imported to Azerbaiajn, or 47 percent less than the January-May last year. The total value of imported cars totaled more than $38,1 million, or 13.2 percent less than last year.
In January-May, the republic imported buses to the amount of 381 units, or 25.3 percent more than in January-May last year. Buses worth $20.4 million dollars were imported in January-May, or 35.7 percent more than the same period last year.
In January-June about 275 trucks were produced in Azerbaijan. In January-June, about 215 cars were produced.
