In January-May Azerbaijan imported about 554.800 tons of cement and cement clinker, which is 23.6 percent less than the same period last year, the Azerbaijani State Statistics Committee said. Cement and cement clinker in January-May was imported to the amount of about 26 million dollars, which is 6.9 percent less than that of 2009.
Cement clinker in January-May was imported to the amount of 231.300 tons, 26.4 percent less than the last year. Clinker was imported to the amount of about $11.3 million, 10.9 percent more than the last year.
During January-May approximately 323.500 tons of cement were imported to the country, or 21.4 percent less than the same period last year. Cement worth $14.6 million was imported to the country, or 17,1 percent less than in January-May 2009.
In January-June Azerbaijan produced about 589,000 tons of cement, which is 0.6 percent less than the same period of last year.
