President of Uzbekistan Islam Karimov signed a resolution of the Cabinet of Ministers "On additional measures on strengthening reproductive health of mothers and children in rural areas of the republic" on 22 July.
In line with the document, pregnant women, living in rural areas, will be supplied with special complex of general restorative polyvitamins, containing folic acid as well, in 2010-2015.
President also approved minimal list of vitamins, which will be purchased for pregnant women in rural areas of Uzbekistan in 2010-2014.
Finance Ministry was entrusted to allocate 8 billion soums in 2010 to purchase necessary polyvitamins to Health Ministry of Uzbekistan.
The document said the necessary funds for purchase of pilyvitamins should be envisaged in formation of state budget of Uzbekistan for 2011-2014.
The resolution exempted polyvitamins, imported by Health Ministry of Uzbekistan, from customs payments till 1 January 2015, except customs duties.
