Vacationing in Georgia is three times more expensive than at Europe's most famous resorts. Tourists in Georgia stay an average of 4-5 days and spend roughly $1,500.

According to the Georgian Institute of Public Opinion Research, the average tourist spends $337 per day in Georgia. The figure tops vacationing costs at top European and Turkish destinations.

One day at a French resort, for example, runs an average of 100 euro. Tourists also complain that souvenirs in Georgia are too highly priced.

According to the institute, most tourists to Georgia hail from Germany, the United States, the UK and France. Most stay in Tbilisi. Some 30 percent arrive on business, 25 percent to visit their relatives and friends, and 23 percent to spend their vacation.
