Loans made by Georgian commercial banks increase by 3 percent in June

Loans made by commercial banks increased by 2.6 percent to 5.7 billion lari in June compared to the previous month, and loans provided in foreign currency increased by 1.7 percent to 71 million lari, .the Georgian National Bank reported.

Loans made by commercial banks increased by 2.6 percent to 5.7 billion lari in June compared to the previous month, and loans provided in foreign currency increased by 1.7 percent to 71 million lari, .the Georgian National Bank reported.

In June, commercial banks issued resident legal entities 699 million (5.5 percent or 36.5 million lari more compared to the previous month) and 2.6 billion lari worth of loans in foreign currency (1.7 percent or 44.2 million lari more).

The share of loans provided to the trade constituted 47.8 percent of all loans to legal entities and amounted to 1.6 billion lari (5.6 percent or 83.7 million lari more than the previous month).

Some 22.1 percent falls to industry, amounting to 732.1 million lari, 10,9 percent or 361,3 million lari - to construction.

During the reported period the volume of loans to resident individuals increased by 3.6 percent or 74.4 million lari and reached 2.2 billion lari in June.
