Azerbaijan, Baku, August 2 / Trend S. Suleymanov /

Kazakhstan's plans to increase export capacity in supplying high quality meat requires improved genetic potential of livestock, Research and Innovation Centre for Livestock and Veterinary director general Aybyn Torehanov told Trend.

"It is necessary to improve the genetic potential of productivity, both beef and dairy cattle to realize Kazakh plans to increase the supply of meat for export, " Torehanov said.

He said that in 2014 Kazakhstan plans to export beef to the amount of 50,000 tons.

He said that Kazakhstan has the need to create the association of stock-breedes, as in other countries exporting meat. Taking into account the economic interests of each participant, it will develop common positions and priorities, form methodological framework of selection and breeding work.

"Unfortunately, such an association has not been created in our country. But I hope that in 5-6 years it will be established in Kazakhstan", he said.
