Concerns about the re-export of the Georgian wines from Kazakhstan in the third country are in vain, the Georgian Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Ambassador to Kazakhstan Paata Kalandadze said in an exclusive interview with Trend .

"Relations between Georgia and Kazakhstan are based on a civilized basis, all trade transactions are carried out within the framework of domestic and international law. And therefore concerns about supply of our products from Kazakhstan to third countries are in vein," Kalandadze said.

He said in 2010 Kazakhstan imported 1.5 million bottles of wine from Georgia.

"Six major companies import our wine into Kazakhstan. In total, 12 brands of this fine drink are imported," Kalandadze said

Regarding Borjomi mineral water, then, the Georgian diplomat said it's planned to increase deliveries from 7.5 million bottles in 2009 to 9 million in 2010.

Earlier it was reported that the Russian chief sanitary doctor, Gennady Onishchenko appealed to Kazakhstan to protect them from re-export of wine and mineral water from Georgia and Moldova.

"Given the law of the Customs Union of Russia, Kazakhstan and Belarus, we convey to colleagues within the adopted regulations that our country limited use of a number of products. We asked to take measures to ban entry of the Moldovan, Georgian wine and mineral water to the Russian territory," Gennady Onishchenko said.

The cost of one bottle of the eorgian wine of different brands in Kazakhstan ranges from $8 and above.
