The Italian Impresa S.P.A. Company was selected a contractor for the reconstruction of Ganja ring road, began preparations for construction work carried out through a loan by the Asian Development Bank (ADB) and the Government of Azerbaijan, Bank's Baku office said.
"Investing in the reconstruction of the road will facilitate trade and cross-border and transit transportations, since improving the road network, increasing traffic and trade will have an impact on accelerating socio-economic development in the west of Azerbaijan and cooperation with Georgia," the bank said.
The cost of the entire project on reconstruction of Ganja ring road is $73.9 million, of which $55.4 million will be provided in the form of the loan by ADB and the remaining $18.5 million by the Government of Azerbaijan. The length of the road is 39 km.
