A new integrated production facility manufacturing leather footwear and construction materials will open at the Peng Sheng Uzbek-Chinese joint venture in September in Uzbekistan, the Uzbek Leather Footwear Association reported.
The facility will be located in the Syr-Darya region.
Plans include producing an annual 300,000 pieces of leather footwear, and 10 million square meters of ceramic tiles.
Peng Sheng also plans to manufacture an annual 600,000 cattle hides, 4 million square meters of ceramic tiles and 400,000 pairs of shoes. The company also intends to export 70 percent of the leather and footwear and 55 percent of the ceramic tiles.
Peng Sheng was established by the Chinese Wenzhou Jinsheng Trade Co. and the Uzbek Company Sinlong with an authorized capital of $3 million.
China will invest at least $25 million in developing the complex, including $12.3 million in the first stage.
Peng Sheng was earlier exempted from paying customs duties on special equipment, machinery, vehicles and the required construction materials.
