GDP growth rate in Azerbaijan reaches 3.5 percent

During January-July 2010, Azerbaijan's GDP grew by 3.5 percent compared to the same period of 2009 and reached 649.6 billion manat, the State Statistics Committee said. GDP figure amounted to 23.2 billion manat in the current prices. GDP per capita amounted to 2599.7 manat ($3235.5), an increase of 2.3 percent.
A 6.2 per cent of added value has been made at the expense of the net taxes on production and imports.
Total production in all sectors of the economy increased by 2 percent and made up 66.7 percent of GDP, where main part - 55.5 percent (12.8 billion manat) accounted for industry. In the sphere of services added value increased by 5.9 percent and amounted to 27.1 per cent of GDP compared to the same period last year.
During January-July of 2010, agriculture, hunting and forestry provided 991.9 million manat, or 4.3 percent of the GDP; construction - 1.6 billion manat (6.9 percent); transport - 1.5 billion manat (6.6 percent); communication and post service - 417.9 million manat (1.8 percent); wholesale and retail trade, automobile field, domestic products and repairing personal-use items - 1.6 billion manat (7 percent); social and other services - 2.5 billion manat (10.6 percent).
