Turkmenistan is preparing drafts on the "Central Bank of Turkmenistan", "Commercial banks and banking activity", "Currency Regulation and Currency Control in foreign economic activity".
These documents were submitted to the Turkmen Parliament.
The main objectives of the development of these projects are to bring the national legislation regulating the banking system in line with international standards, increase the efficiency of banking institutions, related to the implementation of strategic programs for socio-economic development of Turkmenistan, strengthen the reliability and stability of the national currency.
It also ensures openness and transparency in banking operations, introduces world experience in matters relating to lending and project financing, improve control system for conducting export-import operations, introduce an effective system of combating money laundering and terrorist financing; determine management of international insurance.
