Georgia ups wine export by 49 percent

Georgia increased wine export by 49 percent. About 7,823,595 bottles of wine were exported from Georgia in the seven months of 2010 compared to 5,255,609 bottles in the same period of 2009.

Ukraine leads among the countries importing the Georgian wine. The country imported 4,016,341 bottles in January-July 2010, the Georgian Agriculture Ministry reported.

Kazakhstan, which exported 1,162,480 bottles, and Poland - 402,124 bottles are active importers.

According to the statistics, bulk of the wine was exported by the Tbilvino-1 Company -1, 231, 380 bottles and Tbilisi wine cellar - 829,600 bottles.
