State Service for Antimonopoly Policy and Consumer Protection under the Ministry of Economic Development of Azerbaijan has identified and removed from sale and destroyed about 170 kilograms of obsolete products during the regular monitoring of the consumer market, said the ministry.
Monitoring was conducted in Garadagh district of Baku, in the cities of Ganja and Terter.
Expired products - sausage, pastry, butter, milk and dairy products, canned foods, soft drinks, fruit juices, beer - were confiscated from the shops.
During the monitoring of the construction market in Baku, the Service has identified and destroyed 2.4 tons of cement, not corresponding to regulatory and technical documents.
Administrative measures will be taken with regards to legal and physical persons violating consumer rights.
