Turkmenistan prioritizes expanding ties with Azerbaijan
Azerbaijan, Baku, August 26 / Trend, S.Agayeva /
Expanding trade and economic relations with Azerbaijan is a priority for Turkmenistan, Turkmen Ambassador to Azerbaijan Annamammad Mammadov told Trend today.
"Turkmenistan is now a country with a highly developed industrial potential," he said. "In recent years, we have built dozens of modern production facilities. Production lines are being modernized, and new competitive products are being developed. Our products are currently available on the markets of Europe, the United States and also Asia."
These export-oriented products include petrochemicals and high quality oil products, such as base oils, polypropylene, coke and liquefied gas, Mammadov said.
He added that there is also a high global demand for Turkmen textile products, such as cotton fiber, yarn, clothing, underwear and various other household goods. Meanwhile, fertilizers and construction materials are also heavily exported, he said.
"Turkmenistan is interested in establishing strong, long-term trade ties with Azerbaijan, as well as all neighboring brotherly states, and calls on operating companies to develop mutually beneficial cooperation with their Turkmen partners," Mammadov said.
