Georgian ethanol exports to Azerbaijan hit eight percent
Georgia exported 10,288 tons of ethyl alcohol worth $27.1 million during the first half of this year, the Georgian State Statistics Service reported.
The top 10 countries importing Georgian ethyl alcohol were Ukraine ($13.963 million), Belarus ($2.714 million), Kazakhstan ($2.652 million), Azerbaijan ($2.261 million), the Netherlands ($1.994 million), Moldova ($1.925 million), Armenia ($382,000), Kyrgyzstan ($265,200), Spain ($30,000) and Uzbekistan ($23,000).
During the reporting period, exports exceeded imports by 73 percent ($19.812 million). During the period, the country imported 5,437 tons of ethyl alcohol from 18 countries for a total value of $7,377. Georgia exported ethanol worth 54,019 tons and imported ethanol worth $14,022 in 2009.
