Ingushetia's President Yunus-Bek Yevkurov is expected to pay a repeat visit to Azerbaijan in October and November with a view to signing an agreement on bilateral economic cooperation.

"Investment areas such as agribusiness, construction and tourism are important for us," Yevkurov said at a news conference in Baku. "We are also interested in establishing cooperation in culture, sport and other sectors."

Yevkurov's current visit has been characterized as a fact-finding trip on which he will familiarize himself with issues important to bilateral relations with Azerbaijan.

"We have certainly determined that we will prepare an agreement on cooperation between Azerbaijan and all the North Caucasian republics, including Ingushetia," he said. "I plan to re-visit Azerbaijan in October and November, as soon as the document is prepared."

Ingushetia is home to a large Azerbaijani diaspora of more than 1,300 people, many of whom are engaged in the Ingush economy.

"It is therefore necessary to develop the relations between our nations," Yekurov said.
