The new tax code will be approved today after a third reading in the Georgian parliament. According to Georgian Finance Minister Kakha Baindurashvili, the new tax code has been created after intense work on the part of the government, parliament and business.
"After the second hearing of the project, certain issues remained that had to be coordinated. It turned out that many MPs postponed vacations to work intensively on the code. In view of the work, virtually all of the existed remarks have been taken into account," the minister said during a meeting of the Finance and Budget Committee.
Baindurashvili indicated that the new document takes into account all of the remarks that arose during work on the code.
At the same time he stressed the importance of many of the new features that are included in the code, including the commissioning of an ombudsman and minimizing business risk.
