Price of foodstuffs ups by 6.5% in Kazakhstan

The food prices rose by 6.5 percent in Kazakhstan in September compared to the same period of 2009, the Kazakh State Statistic Committee said.

Based on the report, price of sugar rose by 16.4 percent, coffee, tea and cocoa - 12.7 percent, oil and fat - 10.9 percent, confectionery products - 8.3 percent, dairy products - 8.1 percent, flour products, alcoholic beverages - 5 percent, fruits and vegetables - 4.4 percent and cereals - 2.1 percent.

Price-decline was observed on flour at 13.7 percent, pasta - 1.8 percent and bread - by 1.5 percent.

Moreover, increase in prices for meat and meat products amounted to 10.9 percent. Prices of mutton increased by 9.4 percent, sausages - 8 percent, pork - 7.6 percent, poultry - 6.9 percent and horse meat - 4.1 percent.
