The commercial consul of the Polish embassy in Iran stated that the economic sanctions imposed on the Islamic Republic have not affected trade relations between the two countries.

IRNA news agency quoted Anna Gawlik on Thursday as saying that in 2009 Poland exported over 100 million euros worth of goods to Iran.

The exported goods mostly consisted of machinery, ironware and chemical products, Gawlik added.

She said that during this period Iran exported 25 million euros worth of carpets, dried fruit and nuts and chemicals to Poland.

The Polish official noted that despite the economic sanctions against Iran trade had not decreased, but in fact it had increased.
