The law 'On drinking water' came into force in Turkmenistan today, the local media reported.
The law aims to create state guarantees to provide the population with drinking water, and determine the state requirements for monitoring the quality of drinking water and its safety for human health.
The document also refers to the protection of drinking water sources and their use; regulates the legal, economic and organizational basis for the rational use and environmental protection of water supply systems from pollution and depletion, as well as regulates the relations among actors in the field of drinking water.
