Iran exported some 7.387 million tons of petrochemicals worth around 4.337 billion dollars in the first six months of the current Iranian calendar year (ended September 22).
Methanol was the main item with 1.58 million tons of exports.
Iran plans to produce 44 million tons of petrochemicals by the end of the current year.
The 20-Year Outlook Plan (to end in 2025) envisions the petrochemical output to reach 100 million tons by 2015 which is the end of the fifth five-year development plan.
