There are more than 5,000 architects in Azerbaijan, chairman of the Azerbaijani Union of Architects Abbas Alasgarov said at the event on the occasion of the World Day of Architecture in Baku, the State Committee for Architecture and Urban Planning said.
Over 200 organizations and firms operate in the sphere of urban planning and architectural designing in Azerbaijan.
Alasgarov said in recent year the level of professionalism of young architects dramatically increased. World Day of Architecture - the international professional holiday of architects and lovers of architectural masterpieces is celebrated annually in the first Monday of October.
