Azerbaijan's only gold producer, Anglo Asian Mining Plc, has produced 510 kg of silver in the third quarter, the company reported.
The copper concentrate mined during this period also contained about 60 tons of copper and 8 kilograms of gold.
The company expects that the first sales of copper and silver will be already in the fourth quarter of 2010, after coordinating the protocol of sales with the Azerbaijani Government, which will positively affect the financial figures of the company in 2011.
Copper recovery and processing was launched in February and, after optimization of the production process, an automated plant will be installed, the company said.Anglo Asian Mining's plant has a capacity of 1,800 tons of copper concentrate per year, although the volume of production will depend on ore mineralogy and process efficiencies. The company is in the process of assessing options for the sale of copper and silver obtained from the concentrate.
Anglo Asian Mining Plc owns the rights to develop six fields in southwest Azerbaijan - Gedabey, Ordubad, Gosha Bulag, Gizil Bulag, Vejnali and Soyutlu. The concession is based on PSA agreements signed with the Azerbaijani government in August 1997.
