Azerbaijani Transport Minister Ziya Mammadov and Lithuanian Minister of Transport and Communications discussed the possibilities of simplifying transport operations, the increase in transportation between the two countries and cooperation in the modern technologies of transportation, the Azerbaijani Ministry of Transport said.
According to the report, the sides noted the importance of intergovernmental agreements on cooperation in railway transport.
According to the article 9 of the intergovernmental agreement signed between the parties on April 21, 2008 on cooperation in economy, industry and energy, the establishment of an intergovernmental commission on cooperation in the transport sector is provided at the ministerial level. The Lithuanian party proposes to hold the first meeting of the commission in the first quarter of 2011.
