The Parliament of Azerbaijan on Wednesday concluded the discussions on the 2011 draft public budget and related documents included in the budget package.

The Budget package includes a 2011 draft public budget, the draft budget of the 2011 State Social Protection Fund, the bills on the criteria needs and on living cost.  
Living cost in Azerbaijan from the next year will increase by 9.2 percent - up to 95 manat.
Under the bill, the subsistence minimum for labor-ability population for 2011 was set at 102 manat, for pensions - 72 manat, for children - 76 manat.
From next year, the need criterion in Azerbaijan will be raised by 15.4 percent - up to 75 manat.

Revenues and expenditures of balanced budget of the State Social Protection Fund for 2011 are projected at 1970.54 million manat with a growth of 12.1 percent. The chairman of the Fund Salim Muslimov said during discussions at the parliament that next year the number of hired people will average 1.360 million, the average salary - 360 manat. In this case, the wage fund will amount to 5.830 billion manat, of which 5.1 billion manat will be involved in social insurance.

According to Muslimov, transfers from the public budget for next year are projected at 691 million manat.

Azerbaijan's Public budget revenues in 2011 will increase by 4.8 percent to 12.061 billion manat (30 per cent of GDP), expenditure - 3.9 percent to 12.748 billion manat (31.7 per cent of GDP) compared to 2010.

As a result of discussions, the country's parliament gave the government time till Oct. 22 to discuss proposals made by MPs during the discussions, after which voting will take place over the documents included in the budget package.

Official exchange rate on Oct. 13 is 0.8018 AZN/USD.
