TRACECA participants intend to realize new technical project

The participants of TRACECA transport corridor (Europe-Caucasus-Asia) decided to implement a new technical project of offshore and onshore routes in the Black Sea and Caspian Sea to organize the logistics process throughout the corridor, Akif Mustafayev, TRACECA's Azerbaijan national secretary, said. The decision to implement a new project was made after the eighth session of TRACECA's intergovernmental commission, which took place earlier in Brussels.

He said that a new project will be approved in early 2011. It may be adopted by the end of the first quarter.

The main purpose of the project, to be implemented over several years, is to improve the route of the corridor through research, monitoring and organizing training and workshops, Mustafayev said.

At present, TRACECA member-states are Azerbaijan, Armenia, Bulgaria, Georgia, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Moldova, Romania, Tajikistan, Turkey, Ukraine, Turkmenistan, Iran).
