Georgia will import additionally 1,500 Japanese tractors, the Georgian President Mikheil Saakashvili said at a meeting with agronomists in Kakheti.

Georgia will import additionally 1,500 Japanese tractors, the Georgian President Mikheil Saakashvili said at a meeting with agronomists in Kakheti.

According to him, over the past five years the country has already received 3,500 tractors, and after receiving 1,500 tractors, mechanization of the problem will be solved.

"Land reclamation problem was observed in villages, and we have minimized it,"Saakashvili said.

Saakashvili stressed that a program of providing peasants with fertilizers and fuel will be continued from spring to develop agriculture.

"As you know, the fuel becomes more expensive, and when a crisis situation is emerged, the government will help peasants," Saakashvili said.
