Azerbaijan's dynamic development covers all sectors of the economy. The country opened over 900,000 new jobs over the past seven years thanks to this development, Deputy Labor and Social Protection Minister Natig Mammadov said on Tuesday.

"The country creates new jobs and ups the efficiency of employment in the framework of the state program of socio-economic development of regions of Azerbaijan," Mammadov said. "Azerbaijan has been integrating into the global community, so professional staff is required in the country."

The world has been observing an active labor migration and Azerbaijan had become a destination country for labor migration. Mammadov said this is achieved through the socio-economic development and political stability in the country. It also promotes the interest of foreign investors in opening new jobs in the country, he added.

"If the unemployment rate was 19 percent in 2003, then today the figure dropped to 11 percent", Mammadov said.

He said the number of legal migrants in Azerbaijan increased from 4,700 persons in 2008 to more than 7,000 people in the first nine months of 2010.
