A tanker flying flag of Sierra Leone, which was detained by the Georgian border guards, paid the fine, the Georgian Border Police told Trend today.
The Georgian border guards detained the tanker "EAKTAMOS" at the Batumi Port's 8th berth two days ago due to the fact of sea pollution.
The ship's captain, Turkish citizen Sana Sene paid fine in the amount of 65,000 lari (1.78 lari is $1) to the state budget of Georgia.
The vessel was entitled to free sailing.
