Azerbaijan to expand range of e-services in tax field

Azerbaijani Taxes Minister Fazil Mammadov approved an action plan for the ministry in accordance with the plan of activities on formation of the "Electronic Government" in Azerbaijan for 2010-2012. Under the plan, the country will expand the range of e- services in the tax area, the ministry's 'Vergiler' newspaper reported.

This document stipulates development and implementation of the "E-municipality" project aimed at regulating the activities of self-government institutions and improving the quality and effectiveness of the services that they provide to individuals and legal entities. In addition, it is planned to ensure integration with banks and other lending institutions to ensure the exchange of information on the duplicate certificate for opening an account, interest rates and debt on accrued taxes and financial sanctions in e-form.

A universal telephone service will be created in the field of entrepreneurial activity to provide information about the registration of legal entities and individuals, licensing of various activities and taxes in an attempt to obtain information from one source.

In addition, it is planned to expand e- services provided in the tax area, create ways to obtain information in operative mode and improve the quality of services provided to taxpayers.

Moreover, public Internet points will be opened to facilitate public access to e-services.
