Uzbekistan increases production of ethyl alcohol in Jan.-June

Uzbekistan increased the production of ethyl alcohol by 17.6 percent in January-June 2010 compared to the same period of 2009 - up to 4.153 million gallon, the Uzbek State Statistics Committee said.

The production of vodka and liquors in Uzbekistan has increased by 1.5 percent - up to 6.846 million gallon, brandy - by 2,5 times, up to 48.300 gallon, beer - by 20.3 percent, up to 22.004 million gallon since early 2010. The production of wine has decreased by 8 percent - up to 1.339 million gallon, the production of champagne remained on the same level as last year - 53,000 gallon.

According to the official statistics, Uzbekistan increased the production of ethyl alcohol by 9.4 percent in 2009, compared to 2008 - up to 5.124 million gallon.

The production of vodka and liquors increased by 11.8 percent - up to 9.435 million gallon, brandy - by 35.8 percent, up to 35.500 gallon, beer - by 11.9 percent, up to 18.112 million gallon. The production of wine reduced by 3.1 percent - up to 2.107 million gallon.
