The Azerbaijani Finance Ministry announced results of operations for January-September of the top ten insurance companies. About 78.72 percent of the total insurance charges and 74.49 percent of total payments fall to them. About 27 insurance companies operated in Azerbaijan that period and one reinsurance company.

Structure of the top three on insurance charges changed, as AzSığorta shifted Azalsıgorta in the second position by increasing premiums by 22.8 percent, while Azalsıgorta's insurance fees rose by 2.2 percent.
The PASA Sıgorta insurance company rose to the fourth position, increasing amount of insurance charges by over 3.73 million manat (in January-August PASA Sıgorta collected 7.08 million manat).
Ateshgah Sıgorta and International Insurance fell from the fourth to the fifth position and from the fifth to the sixth position, relevantly.
Khalg Sıgorta insurance company rose to the ninth position from the tenth.
The amount of charges of the ten leading insurance companies in January-September 2010 decreased by 16.03 million manat or 14.72 percent compared to the same period of 2009.
The total premiums fell by 9.38 percent (the figure was 130.18 million in January- September 2009) and payments - by 6.35 percent (38.22 million manat).
The report of the Azerbaijani Ministry of Finance in January- September has not indicated the results of the only reinsurance company Az RE.
The official exchange rate is 0.8030 manat to $1 Oct. 22.
