By the end of this year, the State Committee on Standardization, Metrology and Patents and the Ministry of Emergency Situations (MES) of Azerbaijan will approve the Regulations of the technical committee in the construction industry, created by the State Committee, the State Committee for Standardization said Friday.
"Now one of the pressing issues is the preparation of provisions of the new technical committee. The work on its preparation is continuing and it will be approved by both the State Committee and the Ministry of Emergency Situations by the end of the year," said the State Committee for Standardization.
The new committee includes representatives from relevant government agencies, private sector, working in the construction sector. The main purpose of the committee is to harmonize existing standards of construction in the country with the European standards.
None of residential buildings in Azerbaijan will be commissioned without a thorough inspection, Fakhraddin Sadigov, Deputy Chief of the State Agency on Construction Safety Control under the Ministry of Emergency Situations said.
