Great Britain's weight in amount of investments to Azerbaijan exceeds 50 percent

Great Britain continues to keep leading positions on volume of investments to Azerbaijan in January-September 2010. The weight of the country in the volume of foreign investments hit 52 percent for the first seven months, the State Statistics Committee said. British investments hit 728,5 million manat.

In January-September, roughly 93.5 percent (1308,8 million manat) of investments of foreign countries and the international organizations to the Azerbaijani economy fall on share of investors from Great Britain, the U.S, Japan, Norway, France, Korea and Turkey.

The U.S investments hit 248,699 million manat (weight 17.8 percent), Japanese - 130,114 million manat (9.3 percent), Norwegian - 80,696 million manat (5.8 percent), Turkish - 70,105 million manat (5 percent), French - 28,981 manat (2.1 percent), Korean - 21,65 million manat (1.5 percent), UAE - 390,600 manat (0.1 percent), Saudi Arabian - 3,359 million manat (0.3 percent), Austrian - 551,800 manat, Russian - 1.94 million manat (0.1 percent), Czech - 5.07 million manat (0.4 percent), Italian - 160,200 manat, Swiss - 222,200 manat, and Luxembourgian - 8,300 manat.

The biggest volume of investments was allocated by WB to the amount of 59,457 million manat given weight of 4.3 percent.

Asian Development Bank allocated 16,9 million manat (1.2 percent) and Islamic Development Bank - 2.95 million manat (0.2 percent) to realize projects in Azerbaijan.

The official exchange rate is 0.8012 manat to $1 on Oct. 23.
