Uzbek President Islam Karimov signed a decree to appoint Deputy Finance Minister Ravshan Gulyamov the Uzbek Economy Minister, a source in the government told Trend. 

Gulyamov will replace Sunatilla Bekenov in this position. The presidential decree issued in this connection did not reveal the reasons for replacement.

Prior to his appointment as the Economy Minister in July 2009, Bekenov was the head of the executive administration of the Cabinet of Ministers and Deputy Finance Minister.

Gulyamov was appointed the first deputy finance minister in November 2009. Earlier, Gulyamov served as the executive director of the Uzbek Reconstruction and Development Fund, first deputy chairman of the Central Bank, deputy chairman of the National Bank for Foreign Economic Affairs and chairman of the State Joint-Stock Commercial Bank Asaka.
