Kazakhstan temporarily closes highway to Kyrgyzstan

Kazakhstan will temporarily suspend traffic on the "Korday-Merke” (262-352 km) section of the republican highway “Uzbekistan’s border - Shymkent-Taraz - Almaty -Khorgos” leading to Kyrgyzstan from Oct. 29, 2010, the Transport and Communications Ministry of Kazakhstan said.

Kazakhstan will temporarily suspend traffic on the "Korday-Merke" (262-352 km) section of the republican highway "Uzbekistan's border - Shymkent-Taraz - Almaty - Khorgos" leading to Kyrgyzstan from Oct. 29, 2010, the Transport and Communications Ministry of Kazakhstan said.

"The temporary closing of the highway to Kyrgyzstan is due to ongoing reconstruction of roads. The traffic will be resumed from Dec.1, 2011," the Ministry said.

According to the Ministry, motor transport traffic to Kyrgyzstan will be realized on bypass roads till Dec.1, 2011.
