Georgia to host Great Silk Road Forum in 2011

The Great Silk Road Forum will be held in Georgia in 2011. This decision was made at the forum that took place in Iran on Oct. 19-20.

The Third International Forum on "The role of customs administrations in supporting and promoting trade among the Great Silk Road countries" held in Tehran was attended by the heads of the customs administrations of 32 countries and international transport organizations, as well as World Customs Organization head Kunio Mikuriya.

Georgian Revenue Service Deputy Head Levan Gotua and International Relations Bureau Head Nino Shasharshenidze represented Georgia at the event.

The forum held a presentation of the customs and tax systems of all participating countries. Participants showed great interest in the reforms made in the Georgian Revenue Service, and expressed willingness to cooperate.
