Inflation in Kazakhstan in October hit 0.9 percent, the Kazakh State Statistics Agency reported today.

According to the agency, food prices rose by 1.3 percent over the past month, with non-food products increasing 0.6 percent and paid services jumping 0.7 percent.

The price of bakery products also increased 2.2 percent, with flour prices rising 4 percent, bread prices jumping 2.3 percent and meat prices increasing 0.6 percent. The price of gasoline also increased 1.5 percent, with diesel fuel prices rising 2.9 percent.

Housing and communal service tariffs on gas transported via distribution networks also increased 2.6 percent, with electricity prices rising 0.2 percent.
