The Azerbaijani Aqrolizinq state leasing company signed a contract to supply 43.510 tons of mineral fertilizers worth $12 million manat to the country this year, Agriculture Minister Ismet Abbasov said today.
"We plan to completely ensure fertilizer supplies - 40,000 tons of ammonium nitrate, 1,000 tons of ammophos, 512 tons of potash fertilizer, and 7,400 kilograms of pesticides by late 2010," he said.
The minister noted that the country's fertilizer need in the agrarian sector is 600,000-800,000 tons.
"According to realized orders, Aqrolizinq predicts an annual purchase of 100,000-120,000 tons of mineral fertilizers and pesticides during the first stage," he said. "The company is providing the appropriate state bodies with information about the funds needed to purchase fertilizers while forming the state budget for next year."
