The Azerbaijani Pasha Bank will participate in the SIBOS financial exhibition in Toronto in 2011, Chairman of the Board Farid Akhundov said in an interview with The Banker magazine.
"The Azerbaijani bank took part in the exhibition for the first time this year," he said. "We wanted to expand the number of the our financial partners and also hold meetings with existing and new partners in the framework of this exhibition."
According to Akhundov, the bank was also interested in meeting with IT companies presenting new solutions and products at the exhibition.
"Trade financing has also become an interesting part of our discussions," Akhundov said. "We have represented our country at the exhibition, within which I conducted a brief presentation on investment opportunities in Azerbaijan."
According to Akhundov, taking part in the exhibition allowed the bank's management to learn about innovations in IT and trade financing, as well as how to cope with liquidity problems.
"We came to the decision to attend the exhibition next year in Toronto," he said.
