The Azerbaijani State Committee for Securities held a workshop for the heads of joint stock companies, operating in Sheki. The theme of the workshop is "Corporate governance in joint stock companies and increase in the efficiency of the report system". It was supported by the Ministry of Economic Development, the program TACİS EU and the International Finance Corporation, the report said.
Mehman Abbas, the head of the department of the Azerbaijani State Committee for Securities, said that the holding of this workshop is a part of the concept, implemented by the State Committee. It will play a significant role in creating a system of reporting by joint stock companies operating in regions of the country in accordance with the requirements of legislation and improving the effectiveness of protection of shareholder rights.
He said that these events will be conducted in other regions of the country.
